Does Naslite 2-usb support Highpoint hardware raid adapters?

If not, will this be planned for the future. Sees like most of the supported hardware raid card are quite expensive.

Are there any inexpensive hardware raid card support?

Please comment. Thanks

Depends on what how you define inexpensive. I currently run 2 RAID cards. An adaptec 2400A 4port ATA that I got off ebay for around $80 and a 3ware 7500-8 that costed around $150.

I don't condider the above expensive given the size of data they hold.

The highpoint and like cards are really software RAID in that they do no have a hardware Xor engine or a processor to speak of. They are really just special drivers that handle the block slicing to/from the drives.

You can have a good hardware RAID card off of Ebay like ALucas said. $50.00 to $100.00 is all it will cost. Make sure that it supports RAID5, If it doesn't then it likely will not work.

Those adapters retail for a lot more. The reason I mention Highpoint ata raid is because it handles up to 8 drives. The highpoint 464 Rocketraid is pretty good and cost fairly inexpensive and support raid 5 with onchip XOR function.

I would do a search and see if there are Linux drivers for that in the 2.6 kernel release. Can't answer the question as to if it works or not though.

The Highpoint website shows

Open Source driver Linux
Version v2.16
Description support Linux Kernel v2.4.x and v2.6.x ( x86 and x86_64 )

for RocketRAID 1640. Would this work with NASLite-2 USB
