Is anyone here using Western Digital Caviar Green 2 TB SATA III 64 MB Cache HDD for RAID 1 WD does not recommend this HDD for RAID according to there web site:
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=780
But on there PDF doc (Jan 2012) they state that these HDD can be used in RAID 0 or RAID 1 environment:

Did find this post regarding WD Green and RAID:

Have an old Dell Dimension 2400 with NASlite2 installed on an CF 1GB card (IDE to CF adapter) and an old 3Ware 8006-2lp (2CH, RAID 0/1/JBOD PCI,1.5 Gbits/sec) card. Did noticed it is compatible w/ NL2.
Thx
EDIT:
Added correct link to 2879-701229.pdf on wdc.com (not westerndigital.com). We use a bunch of them - but mirrored...not real full time RAID. And these were early specimens.
I'd still go by the manufacturer's recommendation and pick another drive for RAID 1 use. There are enough gotchas and transitions ongoing right now. No need to hang a "kick me" sign on one's back.
Don't ask how I know about this phenomenon
