Is there a way in which one can deframent the HDDs in the NASlite+ server?

i currently use my server to stream DVDs and all my music to the other 5 computers in the house. i frequently rip and remove dvds onto the server.

my concern is that if the server is similar to the way Windows handles its HDDs, then i would assume that the HDDs would eventually need to be Derfragmented.

thanks in advace for any help.

No need to defrag the filesystem. it handles it different from windows file system.

As edeng pointed out, NASLite uses the ext2 filesystem, which does not suffer from the same fragmentation problems that FAT or NTFS tend to experience. NASlite will automatically take care of filesystem maintenance when necessary. You can also force a filesystem check using Option 4 of the admin menu.
