Hi, Great Product! I've built several NAS Boxes for customers, mostly using brand new WD 200gig JB drives. Periodically, regardless of machine type I get an unsuccessful mount of the disk after power failure. Yes I do use battery backup, but even that can fail. Errors cannot be corrected and NAS says run fsck manually without -a or -p.

Is this command available in either the cd or diskette distribution of NAS? Also what is the root login & password to run such command? I can copy the drives by mounting them in a Mepis or Knoppix machine, but would rather be able to repair and re-mount them.

Or is there an alternate method to repair so the same drive can be remounted without copying out 150 gigs of data?

Thanks in advance
Roger

I have been wondering the same for a while now myself.

I am looking forward to the answer. Hopefuly it will be yes. A root password would be quite helpful.

I have built a test box and it out performs and is simplier to use than my windows file server. Good bye windows server.
