Hi there, I need to log into my naslite-system to format a new harddisk. unfortunately I can't remember my self-created password. Is there a workaround to solve this mess? Thanks in advance

Simplest I can think of: Re-create the media you are booting NASLite from (USB, floppy, CD, whatever).

Hi, thanks for replying. As a matter of fact, recreating the floppy-disk came across my mind first, either. I am hesitant, though, as I am afraid the harddisk # 2 could also be reformated and thus the content destroyed.

No ... nothing happens to the hard-disks when you create a new floppy -- only all the settings that are saved on the floppy get reset and need to be re-entered (not a big deal). The hard-disks are only affected by use of the "Configure Storage Disks" menu after you boot NASLite and login. (If you really want to be on the safe side, disconnect the hard-disk(s) while you create a new floppy -- shutdown, re-connect HDD and boot from floppy.)
