Happy New Year!!
this is my first post in this forum, since two Systems with NASLite are working that great for years now, but sad to say: this morning one of my Sata-HDDs of the NASLite-M2 v1.02 died.
Aside the SATA-Mirror (2x 1TB Disk-1 and Disk-2) for all the Multimedia-Data, my M2-config hosts another 40GB IDE (Disk-0) and a 2GB USB-Stick for booting.
Unfortunately, I can not tell if the main disk or the mirror died. What should I do?
- try to start up with the bad disk removed and bios reconfigured, to check what is still ok, reconfigure NASLlite-M2, then replace the bad drive, configure NASLite again, this time with a new mirror?
or
- replace the dead hdd with a new one of eqal size (1TB SAMSUNG HD103UJ Rev: 1AA0), hoping that NASLite will do the rest for me?
Are there any precautions to be taken thoroughly to prevent data-loss on the still intact 1TB-Multimedia-Drive, e.g. switch off mirroring?
Any advice is very appreciated.
Thank you very much!
