NOTE: The following reference provides a comprehensive list of device chipsets supported by NASLite-M2 v1.61. This reference attempts to list all supported network and storage interface devices by type and manufacturer. It is also possible that NASLite-M2 v1.61 will work well with other devices not explicitly identified by this reference.
Upgrading from Previous VersionsUpgrading to NASLite-M2 v1.61 from earlier versions may require reconfiguration. Note that the contents of data drives will not be affected by the upgrade. The only exception to that rule is the storage partition of an HDD boot drive. Prior to upgrade make sure that you have the license and unlock IDs as well as any details such as IP, Netmask, etc. Those can be found by entering the administration menu of your current NASLite-M2 server. Below are the general steps necessary for upgrade to v1.61:
- Booting from CD-ROM (Formerly CDD)
- Replace boot CD-ROM with NASLIte-M2 v1.61 and reboot.
- Allow default boot or select "l" for live.
- Login as "admin" and make sure all configuration settings are correct.
- Save settings and reboot.
- Check server functionality to ensure normal operation.
- Booting from USB Flash (Formerly USB)
- Boot CD-ROM with NASLIte-M2 v1.61 and type "i" to enter installer.
- Select the appropriate USB boot device as the intended target.
- Install NASLite-M2 v1.61 on the USB device - upgrading while preserving the configuration is not possible.
- Boot the server from the newly programmed USB boot device.
- Login as "admin" and set all configuration settings as required.
- Save settings and reboot.
- Unlock, save settings and reboot.
- Check server functionality to ensure normal operation.
- Booting from Hard Drive (Formerly HDD)
- Prepare boot drive by moving all data to a different drive or use a blank drive.
- Boot CD-ROM with NASLIte-M2 v1.61 and type "i" to enter installer.
- Select the appropriate boot drive as the intended target.
- Install NASLite-M2 v1.61 on the boot drive - DISK WILL BE FORMATTED - upgrading while preserving the configuration is not possible.
- Boot the server from the newly set boot drive.
- Login as "admin" and set all configuration settings as required.
- Save settings and reboot.
- Unlock, save settings and reboot.
- Check server functionality to ensure normal operation.
