Hey all,
I've been playing around with a recently purchased version of NASLite+ 1.5 and am confused by the different transfer rates between the different protocols. FTP is by far the most consistent, with writes saturating my client's NIC, reads are about 75% utilization. When using Samba (SMB), the write rate is pretty good (throughput varies, but overall the transfer is pretty fast), but the read rates are just downright slow.
I've been reading through many of the postings in this forum and it seems like since v2.0 came out the fast write/slow read issues haven't resurfaced.
Should I update to 2.x (I can't believe I didn't purchase 2.x the first time... pushed the wrong button I guess)? Will it help the SMB read rate with no change in hardware?
Thanks for any insight!
