Regarding NASLite2-HDD:

I want some files and folders to be unalterable and undeletable but not all. The only way I could see to do this was to set up two drives... one read-only and the other read-write. Problem is I have to change the RO drive to RW (and then back again to RO) each time I want to add things to the RO drive.

Is there a way for the admin to add files and folders to the RO drive without changing it (and rebooting it twice in the process)? Or is there another solution I'm not aware of?

Thanks for any input.

Naslite does not have any kind of rights to be set to a drive or certain folders. This would be a great idea for Naslite 3, I am hoping for the same thing. My box doesnt need any rights changed at the moment but Im sure it will come in Handy.

Some drives have a write protect jumper, you could use a cable to bring it out to a switch on the front panel and handle it that way.
