Hello,
I currently run a custom debian debootstrap with SMB/NFS/FTP on two 256mb compactflash cards in RAID1 for my OS.
Specs: Dell workstation mounted in Antec 4u rackmount P4 1.7GHz 512mb DDR PCI Sil3132 6channel STAT raid card PCI Dlink DGE-530T gigabit NIC
I had a heck of a time with the DGE-530T, had to recompile sk98lin and force insert it on boot (init script) but I get full 1000base reported
The current NAS configuration I have is: 2x320GB SATAII NCQ matched pair 2x500GB SATAII NCQ matched par LVM2 with 4096km PE's fully expanded and formatted as SGI's XFS filesystem (1.49TB) I quite like the preformance of the XFS filesystem as the NAS handles multimedia editing dumps and group swap data file sizes: 85% >20mb, 10% <1mb, 5% pdf's and documentation (2-3mb)
MY questions are: Does NASLite support XFS and logical volume management or would I need to migrate to another system? I assume since their is no software raid and hardware raid should always be optional LVM was the only other way to effectively span drives. Does NASLite support my evil DGE-530T nic out of the box or will I need to re-compile it again?
Thanks,
