Sorry, v1.6 on M2, it's not out yet.

Installing M2 to a USB key or hard drive would make it easier for you to edit the file.

I can edit a conf for a hard drive/usb install and attach it, then all you'll have to do is copy the new file over from DOS if you like.

The problem I am having is the computer is brand new I just finished putting it together there is no OS on it. It has a DVD drive, a floppy drive, 1 brand new unformatted hard drive and plenty of USB ports. It hangs up before I can install to a USB drive or hard drive and it won't boot from the CD.

Thanks,
Tom

Get into the BIOS and change the order of the boot devices so that CD-ROM comes before HDD.

First thing I did the hard drive is dead last. It sees the CD it gets to the point where you can install or boot from the CD and stops.

Good news after digging deep into the bios I found a setting to shut the APIC off. Now the standard iso disk boots fine. Now I'm having issues with the floppy not working and the LAN port on the motherboard not being recognized. I'm going to try to a pci network card from another computer. Can I disconnect the floppy and save the configuration file on the usb drive?

Thanks,
Tom

You can use the CDROM boot and save the config to a usb key, however you need to do a USB install to the key first, so NASLite will identify as a config device.

If you BIOS supports USB boot, use it, you'll free up a IDE port by not using the CDROM drive, unless it's sata.

Well I don't know how I did it but it is up and running. I have 1000s of photos, over 3500 mp3s and about 275 movies that I want to put on the NASLite computer. Do I just put them all in the media folder or can I make separate folders for each file type? I have a 1T hard drive now and room for at least 3 more.

Thanks for the help from everyone.
Tom

You can have sub folders in the MEDIA folder. Anything in the MEDIA folder will be indexed by UpNp and DAAPD.

I copied a bunch of mp3 files and they worked fine in both Itunes and the XBox 360. The XBox 360 will not recognize jpeg photos or mpg or mpeg video files. I can browse the folders but it says "no video found" or "no photos found". I have about 300 movies in mpeg format.

Thanks,
Tom
