Why do I lose connection over time? I have to reboot to get it back. Is there a fix?

Are there any anomalies displayed in the syslog as the machine is being used. In most cases such problems are associated with shared IRQs, but it can also be caused by bad hardware, cable, switch, overheating, etc.
