I think I can do this but am not sure. I have 2 NASlite's not M2 but just the HDD ones. I guess if I put my M2 CD in and do a install I can still use my same license code that came with the HDD ones right?

Or would I have to get another NASLite-M2?

I don't want to test this out till I know it will work or I guess I could delete all the data. It's so easy to update the old M2 to new M2 just put in the CD boot and press I for install. I guess it be the same for the HDD ones I have.

I have one on my Netgear ND508. It be nice if I can just do a Install of the M2 and still use it's license number.

What does it matter? The activation key can be gotten from the Server Elements web site as many times as needed. Put in the new version, get a new key, enter it in and off you go.

Don't make more of it than it is. No data will be lost and your configuration shouldn't change either.

It matters because I don't want to buy M2 if I can use the same Licencse from my CDD Naslite on a M2 one.

I thought it would work. So I did a Install on my NASLite HDD of M2. In the menu I picked upgrade and it did. But it came back saying "License ID is invalid." I thought could use the same one as the HDD for the M2 but looks like I can't.

They have 50% off so I will see what it will cost me to upgrade.

I thought I would have to wait till midnight. But by about 7:00 pm they had the 50% off. I found it on http://twitter.com/serverelements on twitter and I did not have to download the NASLite-M2 again. I all ready installed it on my NASLite-2 HDD. Just waiting for the 50% off.

I put in the new M2 license registration number and rebooted then went to it's same URL web page and the unlock code and put that in and rebooted and it all works very good with all my files still there.

I found out on twitter too that it looks like Server Elements is only about 17 miles drive away from me! I never know they were very close to were I live.

m2 license is not compatible with 2 so you will not be able to run m2 with your 2 license
