I believe the D-Link DGE-528T has an RTL8169 chipset, in which case it should be supported. Why not put it in and see? If it don't work, buy one that does. NICs are cheap.

I have tried the NIC firstly using the setup cd and booting direct from the CD, all seemed to be ok. Then i installed M2 onto a usb drive and it failed to detect the D Link card and shut down the server. I had to enable the onboard NIC and all is fine.

The chip is a DLG10028C

I have also tried another usb with standard NAS v2 and that also fails to recognise the D Link, could there be a conflict between the onboard USB controller and the D Link NIC?

I do not want to buy another NIC if the problem is not the NIC

Move the NIC to another PCI slot and try booting it again.

Also, does your board have a onboard nic?

Disable it, or use the Select Interface option in the network configuration and set it to last.

I posted on here with a Dlink Gigabit card I have here is what I said:

Quote:
I have a Linksys Gigabit Network Adapter card Model No.: EG1032 and NASLite-M2 V1.01 don't see it! I tested that it does work with a live boot of ubuntu 8.04.

So any one that wants to use this Gigabit card it will not work with NASLite-M2 V1.01. It just boots and turns off.

That one don't work. Some Intel Gigabit ones do like the Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop Adapter. It's super fast gigabit to gigabit and works fast in the NASLite-M2 I have it in.

For what it's worth, a google search for the terms
    d-link dge 528t rtl8169
returns many references that DLG10028C=RTL8169.
