Might want to consider a "chatter forum" Tony so things dont get gummed up.

Anyway, I currently have my terabyte NAS thanks to NASLite (floppy). Does anyone know of a webserver that runs along the same lines (USB Drive as floppy is just too small) that does ASP, PHP, CGI and SQL. Trying to get bare min. hardware and kernel (NASLite would be perfect but well....) and setup a HTTP & telnet interface to maintain it.

One said (another forum) install minimal FC4 and then go from there but its still too bulky in my opinion. ANY assist for this would be great and certainly apreciated.

We have a "very rough" prototype of such a system that runs Apache/php5/SQLite, however it's not in a distributable state. Later this year perhaps...

No ASP though...

Not exactly what you're asking for (maybe it'll help, though)... if you have some incarnation of Windows on the old machine already, you could try Uniform Server. It's designed to be a WAMP server that you can run directly from a USB drive, but it can be used from a hard drive. Setup is incredibly simple, and when you're done you have Apache, MySQL, php, perl, and phpMyAdmin (and maybe a few other things) ready to go.

Looks promising, but I'd like to avoid windows all together. So it seems the search continues.....

Anything going on here? I know I seem annoying but I rather think persistant.

Probably not until NASLite-2 is complete and out. ;-)
