hey,

first i am sorry for my bad english. i am from austria ;)

and secondly i have a question.

i just finished to configure my old pc with naslite as nas. when i try to connect with my os x leopard mac with the smb protocoll i have to insert a username and a password. the guest user is not working.

do you know witch loginname and password i have to use? the "admin" and pw: "nas" are not working.

thank you.

philipp

On Mac OS X,

The file /etc/nsmb.conf must exist and contain (at least) the following entry:

[default]
minauth=none

Otherwise OS X will ask for a username/password even thou naslite does not require one. OS X out of the box does not play well with anonymous shares and *requires* this change to be made, this is not a bug with NASLite.

Your English is definitely better than my Austrian, so no apology necessary ;)

and when i find this file i should edit it with a normal textedit, right?

If the /etc/nsmb.conf file does not exist, then create it with a text editor and insert the suggested text.

Ok, I have made this file and is now on my desktop. Where do I put this file? On each disk on NL?

Thanks
Soren

As a non-Mac user, I can only presume that the /etc/ part is a folder name and it exists on the system drive on the Mac.
