I'm just trying NAS-LITE-SMB and it works fine. But now I want use this NAS with 2 Netgear FVS318-VPN-Router and it seems impossible?

In the first network I have 2 PC with Windows 2000, 2 PC with Windows 98 and the NAS (IP-Range 192.168.1.x). The 2nd network is a single PC with Windows 98 (IP-Range 192.168.0.x)

In the local network I can ping the NAS and have a response. From the 2nd network, via VPN, I have a response from the Windows-Devices but the NAS stays invisible.

Can anybody help?

Stefan

I hope so ? - The NASlite box is set to 192.168.1.10, Mask 255.255.255.0

To connect from a 2nd net with the IP-Range 192.168.0.x with an VPN connection, have I set the Mask to 255.255.254.0 ??????

The gateway on the NASLite box should be set to the inside interface of your router.

What is the router's address(s)?

The router's adress is 192.168.1.11 (255.255.255.0)
The NASLite's adress is 192.168.1.10 (255.255.255.0)

This should be correct.....

You'll need to define two addresses on your NASLite box:

One that will be the ip address for the NASLite box
One that the NASLite box will use as it's "default gateway"

I don't have my box handy so I can't tell you exactly where to specify the gateway, but if I remember to look tonight I'll try and post exact instructions.

Theres no option to change/enter the default gateway so ther is no way to use the NASLite server through a router
